PRESS RELEASE
Manuel PEYRONDET, head sommelier at Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris, has just been named Meilleur Ouvrier de France (M.O.F.) for wines in 2011
Paris, May 19, 2011 – The results of the prestigious M.O.F Sommellerie 2011 were announced on Monday the 16th at the Pré Catelan in Paris.
Manuel Peyrondet, 31, already named Best Sommelier in France in 2008, just earned the prestigious award of Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman in France) for wines in 2011.
Manuel Peyrondet began his career with Eric Beaumard at the George V, then worked seven years at Taillevent alongside Jean-Claude Vrinat, moving up from commis to head sommelier. From here, Manuel joined the staff at the Bristol, where he mastered wine cellar management.
In May 2010, Manuel Peyrondet accepted the position as head sommelier at Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris with the job of entirely re-creating the hotel’s wine list.
His extensive list of affordable wines was met with immediate acclaim. Indeed, Manuel focused his search on prestigious wines as well as lesser-known appellations and vineyards: French wines for La Cuisine, the hotel’s French restaurant, and wines from every region of Italy and the world for Il Carpaccio, the Italian restaurant.
